Add a hashtag limit on posts

There should be a hashtag limit on posts! Everyone's feeds and tags have become so clogged and full of spam because of the thousands of users posting their selling posts with literally hundreds of hashtags. There's no reason anyone should ever need more than maybe 15 hashtags unless they're spamming. It's impossible to find things anymore because of all the spam. For example #artexplore now has more spam selling posts than art. People also spam tags for important causes or events like #pride with selling posts. It's so incredibly frustrating, especially for everyone that's been on hr a long time and remembers when explore and all the hashtags actually worked to filter what you were looking for.

Also if a post is literally doing nothing when the item is literally sold that should also count as spam and should be take down like the most of a post be on ( specific of the sell post) 1month cause they are not helping having that there and confusing user's

5 is pretty perfect idk what tags y’all are using but

inventorysale/actuallybuying
explore (or &) lfexplore
& if you’re posting a full grab or even a set to buy or sell items you can just put the grab name as a hashtag.
This is really all that’s needed
Anything else is just y’all being extra. It’ll be SO much easier to buy and sell items when y’all aren’t gonna be using BOTH buy/sell tags on one post
if everyone would just get on the same page as far as hashtags there would be no need for this whole limiting hashtags but everyone has gone overboard. Using buying tags to sell items or promote yourself..

I think it’ll work but all we can all do is wait and try it out 😊😊 there IS times when I post multiple items to buy and or sell but I feel like the inventorysale tag and actuallybuying tag Can work if no one else is using them for something other than what they’re intended for 🤷🏻♀️

Instead of penalizing those that abused hashtags, the players who spend the most are being penalized. Im not gunna spam my own newsfeed to sell. I'll simply stop playing like most players do after they spend all their gold and cant sell items.

Yasmeen Khader: i get you but we still can’t shoot something down we haven’t tried. I have literally 15 grabs FILLED with items as well that I need to sell and I don’t spam my news feed nor spam with different hashtags. AS a buyer AND a seller I see the overload of hashtags as a problem.. i make collage posts too but I only use the hashtags for the most popular items and I sell only in portions so that I don’t overwhelm my followers. Once I sell items I move onto the next batch but I get most of us don’t have the kind of time or patience 😌 either way I hope you stay in the game and give it a shot.

Alice: 😌 I’ve already lost a few people because I’m trying to stick to this ridiculous 5 tag limit. I’m with Yasmeen Khader on this one. I don’t have “most popular” items. I get messages for random items on my collages, and I never look for any items using tags like “selling, inventory sale, and sfexplore” etc. I’m literally just using item names and the grab/event name. I’m not even done posting and my pers feed is spammed and I’ve lost a few people. I can only imagine how much more will be gone for everyone with this influx of posts.

Rian Chimera: when pages like the itemsaledirectory page post multiple items a day and within seconds of each other has 114k followers i find it hard to believe. I myself post regularly with that amount of tags and I’ve been getting plenty of sales and even more followers.. so idk I guess we just have different experiences. And again we will just have to wait and see how the rest of the community likes the change. It’s supposedly already in effect but I see plenty of tags still working past the 5th one on some posts. 🤷🏻♀️

No. Even 5 is way too few for selling. I would need to make 5+ posts just for one grab and one event. Being able to tag all the items in one grab and the grab name should be the minimum, maximum tags should be all the rewards in an event like prank. There’s no way I can sell all the items this event without way more posts. I have spent so much money on this app already, please don’t make it this much harder to sell the extra grab and event items. Thank you.

The item posted should either not count the item name in hashtag count or if the item is in your sf it should show for that item name in the hashtag search.

Three is too few. As an avid seller (and respectful) through posts I usually sell 16 items (one square) at a time +normal hashtags like selling, sf, sf explore with ONLY the items listed in the post. So there should be some wiggle room. 3 is too few cus then wed have to sell 1 item per post

Anton @ Highrise: i think the original of 15 is more fair. Many people make collages of 9 to 12 items to sell at once so that we dont have to spam our newsfeeds.

Would it be possible to maybe try 10? 5 hashtags might be a bit too limiting for the users who are trying to sell items legitimately without spamming at all - like the users who use item names as hashtags and do a grid of 9 items per post. We want this feature to reduce spam without frustrating legitimate sellers and buyers

Anton @ Highrise: 5 is definitely not enough. If that’s the case, then there needs to be a selling system put into place already. It’s absurd that the only real way we can put our items up for EVERYONE to see is to post them. It’s terrible, especially with millions of players. Limiting us to 5 will only make it much harder than it already is. 10-15 is the perfect amount. We find items by using the name of it in a hashtag. That would prevent this.

Anton @ Highrise: I understand wanting to limit the amount of spam from users who abuse hashtags, but this is ridiculous for those of us who only use relevant hashtags in our posts.
A lot of players advertise 15+ items in a single post, so not to spam our feeds and these posts would usually contain a hashtag for each item, plus a couple others like, "selling", "inventorysale" etc.. you've had years to implement a marketplace or a better way for players to sell and trade (because let's face it, storefronts in their current state are useless), instead you choose to remove the only way we can currently search for or sell items to a larger audience.
